We are thrilled to introduce Mason as the newest addition to our Gorilla family. As the fresh face of our team, he will be dedicated  to take care of residential and commercial properties at Gorilla’s newest territory in Oakville, Ontario.

Q: What made you want to own a franchise, specifically a Gorilla business?

After earning my BComm from the University of Guelph, I began a finance career within the real estate sector. However, I eventually realized this path wasn’t for me, prompting me to explore alternative career options, with a goal of finding a profession that would blend my academic background with my passion to work outdoors. This led me to consider franchising with Gorilla, which stood out among other options for several reasons. Beyond the desire to be my own boss, I was drawn to Gorilla’s strong leadership, branding, and the supportive franchisee community it offered.

Q: Why now – what influenced you to make this decision?

At the age of 23, I found myself confined to a desk every day, and it dawned on me that I couldn’t envision doing this for the next four decades. I started recalling the work I did as a teenager throughout the summer months, that included hands-on responsibilities and outdoor work. This experience, combined with my formal education led me to search out and land on Gorilla.

Q: In your opinion, what are the benefits of joining a franchise system?

Choosing to join a well-established franchise system appealed to me more than starting or purchasing a business from the ground up. The appeal of receiving business assistance, established branding, and proven business models were among the factors influencing my decision to join Gorilla. Additionally, the prospect of being part of a larger team and franchise family, was appealing. Throughout my due diligence process, I engaged with numerous Gorilla franchisees across Canada, all of whom spoke highly of their experiences and provided honest and open guidance throughout my journey.

Q: Tell us about your territory, what do you think makes it unique?

As the owner of Oakville Gorilla Property Services, I expect to become homeowners’ and property managers’ first choice for their property maintenance service needs. I wish to grow the business organically and hiring customer-focused employees in the process.
