    Common questions

    Lawn Care — answered

What's included in a standard lawn service?

In Halton Hills, mowing at the correct height for the grass type, edging along walks and beds, trimming around obstacles, and blowing clippings off hardscape. Recurring service plans add fertilization, weed control, aeration, and overseeding as separate scheduled passes.

Will weekly mowing damage my lawn?

Properly cut at the right height, no — regular mowing actually strengthens the lawn. The damage comes from cutting too short, mowing wet grass, or dull blades that tear instead of cut. Pro crews maintain blade sharpness and adjust deck height by season.

    When should I fertilize?

Three or four passes per year for most climates — early spring, late spring, late summer, and fall. Late-fall fertilization is particularly valuable — roots store nutrients for the next spring while top growth slows.

Is regular weed control safe for pets and kids?

Modern selective herbicides used at residential rates are safe once dried (typically 1–2 hours after application). Pets and kids should stay off the lawn until then. MSDS documentation available on request.

    What about aeration and overseeding?

Annual core aeration in fall (or early spring) reduces soil compaction and lets water and fertilizer reach roots. Overseeding immediately after aeration fills in thin spots and strengthens turf density.

Do you handle leaf cleanup in fall?

Yes — fall leaf cleanup is offered as a per-visit add-on or as part of seasonal recurring plans. Crews remove leaves from lawns, beds, and walkways and bag for disposal or composting depending on your preference.

What happens if my irrigation system needs attention?

Crews flag visible irrigation issues during service — broken heads, leaking valves, missing coverage. Repair work is quoted separately. Most properties benefit from annual spring start-up and fall blow-out, which can be added to the maintenance plan.

    How is pricing structured?

Per-visit pricing scales with lot size, terrain complexity, and obstacle density. Recurring plans bundle mowing + fertilization + weed control + cleanup at a discount versus individual bookings.

What's the difference between residential and commercial lawn care?

Commercial sites typically have stricter schedules (early-morning service to avoid disrupting operations), specialized equipment for larger areas, and contract terms with defined SLAs. Residential service is more flexible.
