    How much should I expect to pay for snow clearing near me?

    Pricing depends on subscription vs per-visit, driveway size, and whether sidewalk and walkways are included. Subscription for typical single-driveway runs in the lower thousands per winter (covers all snowfall in an average season). Per-visit adds up faster across a heavy winter.

    What about an exceptional snowfall — can you keep up?

    How do you handle ice storms differently?

    What ice melt do you use, and is it safe for pets and concrete?

    For most residential we use calcium magnesium acetate (CMA) and calcium chloride blends rather than rock salt. CMA is safer for pet paws, lawns, and concrete. Rock salt damages concrete (especially newer pours), kills shrubs at the bed line, and irritates dog paws.

    How fast do you clear after a snowfall?

    For subscription clients, our standard target is to complete the route within 24 hours of the storm ending — most routes finish faster. Heavy storms (over 30cm) extend the target to 36 hours with medical and senior-flagged properties prioritized.

    Should I clear snow from my roof?

    For most modern homes built to code, no — design snow load accounts for it. Older homes with shed-roof additions, sunrooms, or porches may need clearing during exceptional snow years. Watch for sagging, doors that bind, and ceiling cracks.

    Will de-icer damage my concrete or perennials?

    Done right, no. CMA at correct application rates does not damage cured concrete or established lawn. Rock salt and aggressive calcium chloride are more damaging — they pit fresh concrete and damage perennials. We use lawn-safe and concrete-safe chemistry by default.

    Do you clear during the storm or only after?

    After the storm in most cases. Mid-storm clearing on residential driveways is inefficient — within an hour the cleared surface has the same accumulation as before. We offer mid-storm clearing for commercial operational needs.
