    How often should I have my windows cleaned?

    Twice a year is the realistic baseline for most homes: once in spring after pollen and storm season, once in fall before winter. Heavy-traffic commercial glass needs more, monthly or quarterly, depending on dust and foot traffic exposure.

    Is DIY window cleaning effective?

    For accessible windows, yes. With the right tools and a bit of patience, streak-free results are achievable on glass you can reach comfortably. Where DIY tends to fall short is tall windows, tight spaces, and hard-water staining, which call for professional equipment and compounds to handle properly.

    Are your cleaning solutions safe for low-E coatings?

    Yes — pH-neutral solutions are the standard for low-E coatings and triple-pane gas-filled units. Strong acidic cleaners (some over-the-counter “hard water removers”) can etch the coating and void manufacturer warranties. Always verify aggressive products with the manufacturer before applying.

    Do you clean skylights and specialty glass?

    Skylights are included when safely reachable. Inaccessible roof-mounted skylights need a specialty visit with fall-arrest gear, quoted separately. Stained glass and leaded panes get soft-cloth treatment only — never pressure or aggressive chemistry.

    Can you clean windows during the winter months?

    Possible above -5°C with an antifreeze-additive solution, but most clients schedule the bulk of work between April and November. Heated commercial properties can be cleaned interior any time.

    Are crews insured and WCB-covered?

    Yes — liability and WCB certificates available on request. Any contractor working at height on your property should be able to produce same-day proof of both. The water-fed pole approach also reduces ladder-related risk significantly compared to traditional methods.

    Can you clean basement window wells?

    Yes, we clean basement window wells, though they take extra work because of the ground-level dirt, leaves, and debris that collect in the well. We clear out the well, then clean the glass, and quote it alongside the rest of your basement windows.

    How long does a typical residential visit take?

    Single-storey, 12–20 windows: 1 to 2 hours. Two-storey or 25+ windows: 3 to 4 hours. Larger homes with significant glazing can run a half-day or longer. Time is quoted on-site after counting windows and identifying any access challenges.

    How is window cleaning priced?

    Pricing is based on window count or pane count, which is the most predictable measure for residential work. For large commercial buildings we sometimes price by square footage instead. Every quote also factors in accessibility, height, and the condition of the glass.
